Not every need fits into a catalog. AbrisDirect sells standard Harnois shelters at a fixed price, ready to order online — but some projects call for a different approach. Here's how to know which one is right for you.
What is a standard shelter?
Our standard shelters are manufactured by Abris Harnois in fixed dimensions: each model (single, double, utility) is available in a set range of widths and lengths. The price is shown on the product page and the purchase is completed entirely online, with no quote request or wait. It's the right choice for the vast majority of needs.
When a standard shelter isn't enough
In some situations, no catalog model really fits:
- An oversized vehicle: an RV, an oversized truck, or several very different vehicle sizes to fit under the same shelter.
- An unusual lot: limited space, an irregular shape, or obstacles that prevent installing a standard model.
- A shelter attached to a building: a structure attached to the house or garage rather than free-standing.
- Permanent use: a structure meant to stay in place year-round rather than a seasonal shelter.
If you recognize your situation in any of these, custom is probably the right path.
Custom work, a specialty of Groupe Bellon Prestige
AbrisDirect is part of Groupe Bellon Prestige, a Quebec family business active since 1895 in designing custom awnings and shelters. For a project outside the catalog, there's no fixed online price: an advisor assesses your lot, constraints, and needs before proposing a solution tailored to you.
Request a quote for a custom shelter
Custom shelters aren't ordered online like our standard models. Fill out Groupe Bellon Prestige's quote request form: an advisor will contact you to discuss your project.
Frequently asked questions
Does a custom shelter cost more than a standard one?
It depends entirely on the project. A standard shelter has a fixed price shown online; a custom shelter is assessed based on your dimensions, materials, and constraints — which is why it gets a personalized quote instead of a catalog price.
Can I order a custom shelter directly on AbrisDirect?
No. AbrisDirect sells standard Harnois models online. For a custom project, the quote request is handled by Groupe Bellon Prestige, the company behind AbrisDirect.
Who builds the custom shelters?
Groupe Bellon Prestige, a fifth-generation family business that has been building custom awnings and shelters in Quebec since 1895.
